Hey all, I recently bought myself a 1991 500SL and have been lurking on here for a few weeks reading up on all the hands-on stuff that I'll have to learn to do myself if I want to avoid being bankrupted at a dealership for repairs.

Recently, my car has been manifesting a number of little electrical gremlins; I checked the fuse box in the main engine bay, and found much to my dismay that several fuses were indeed blown, and that (more importantly) it's fuse card was missing. I've already checked the owner's manual scoured both these forums and the net as best I could in search of an image of a pre-1996 (when the fuse box changed) fuse card, to no avail.

Would any kind soul with a digital camera and a 500SL be willing to help me out by posting a legible picture of the fuse card? Any other advice on resolving this issue would be much appreciated, thanks!

Try searching in this forum, "fuse box" .. or something like that, you might find what you need?

I believe, if you go to a member's website he has an owners manual you can PDF download........ Brian Clifton . com

As for your problem, in a few hours fellow members more knowledgeable than me will chime in with a pic or schematics of the fuses.

Hope it helps for now.

Thank you, I've done so.

Unfortunately, the owner's manual doesn't have a fuse schematic in it, and all the fuse-related searches I could think of here and on Google (R129 fuse box, R129 fuse diagram, R129 fuse schematic etc.) turned up a pic of my trunk fuse card, but none of the one in the engine bay for a pre-1996 R129.

Have tried ....unfortunately no!!!
One side french ..other side ...german .
I don't think it would have been better to post german card rather than french
Abore you have full purposes and explaination about fuses even colour ,but anyway ...there no definite colour codes accordind to the acceptable amps
Maybe it could be helpful if you translate also the two others locations in the car ..Everybody on this forum could have complete sight on his fuses
Thank you for the time you spent on that
