You might want to add a link so that we can take a look at these wonder plugs.

OK, that might have come across as a snide comment, but with all the hoopla in the verbiage, they come across a little like the vortex generator that you can install in your intake and boost fuel mileage by 25%..............

1,000,000 watts, hmm
Power is always relatable ... so at 12volts 1M watt is 83,333 amps from the low current circuit and assuming 40,000 volts at plug 25 amps thru plug and assoc lead, with no losses thats a Whopping spark

Forget the Petrol... run the SLK on spark (electric) power alone

Do a search online and read some of the comments on the other car forums. I know Honda's was having a problem with the plugs. Something about the ignition breaking the plug down and causing a misfire. They did a test on a Corvette and didn't produce any real results. On one of the forums they figurered it would take like 10 years in fuel savings to pay for the plugs. Each part number for the plugs does a large number of different engines. Hopefully the one for our car is close to the heat range of the stock plug. The best way to find out is to buy a set and try them. If they don't work or they mess something up atleast the rest of us will know not to buy them once you report your findings.

1 Ampere = 1 Coulomb / 1 second.

They are called "pulse" for a reason. It is not going to be for 1 second.

They are talking about an impulse. That is a very, very, very short amount of time.

So there isn't that much energy, just a lot of power for a very short duration.

---------------
As an analogy: consider Newton's 2nd Law of motion.

F = d(mv)/dt

For a very high speed projectile heading toward a very dense and hard object, at impact, because the duration of the contact-energy transfer is so so short with such a great change in momentum (dt is the denominator), the impact force can be phenomenally high.
---------------

So in that way, they haven't misled anybody.

I did buy a set of Pulsestar's and tried them.

However, in the real world, the potential performance gain that I am able to determine is not that much superior over the NGK Laser Iridium's (IFR.....). However the Pulsestar's lack manufacturing quality control as well as material and construction. They are not pre-gapped. The ground electrode needs to be aligned with the center electrode manually. The size of the ground electrode varies from plug to plug. There isn't any platinum on the ground electrode. The center electrode is sized similar to the NGK Iridium but I believe slightly bigger in diameter. They seemed to wear out like regular copper plugs. The plating is not as high quality as those that I see in other brands.

Having said that, I still like them since I was able "make good use" out of them. They are not ordinary spark plugs if you go "deeper" than the surface. They have some special characteristics that other plugs don't possess. And because of that, I am able to exploit it and make them more durable than otherwise possible.

spark plugs are a lot of marketing.... a lot of people have had mixed results of long life plugs (iridium etc) in forced induction engines esp running at higher boost (the boost blows the spark out) + u cant or its hard to gap those plugs.

standard copper plugs work fine and the advantage of other plugs they last longer but hey i dont feel comfortable leaving any plug in for 100,000kms...

doing the figures ... (example in aussie dollars)

- standard copper plug about $4 (set of 4 $16)
- exotic metal plug (iridium, platnium etc) about $14 (set of 4 $56)

say you would replace the copper ones 3 times over 100,000kms thats $12 (set $48).

to get more spark (i dont see why you would need to on a stock car) you would need to upgrade your igntion system.coils etc.....

stick to standard......

I don't think it would make any defferent on stock car..Maybe? lol... but if you want real spark get the ignition upgrade like msd w/ external coil..etc(like Subby said) No point of doing that if you running stock spec. In other word waste of money..

I am using these and they do everything they say. I got an easy 6% increase in economy and the car has a noticeable increase in torque. Used on an A6 Turbo. I installed them in 2 of my freinds Ram pickups. Both increased over 8% in economy. I have a promo code that save 10% "bestplug" . make sure you gap them per instructions.

I recently installed the Pulstar plugs in my car, about a week ago as a matter of fact. Get them from Amazon, our type of car uses the be-1 model, they are the cheapest there especially with the on-going promotion when you buy 2 2-packs. This promotion is just for us, take advantage of it.

Before that I had the standard copper core bosch plugs and every morning when I cranked my car up it would stutter (and sometimes even turn off--cold start?) then 5 seconds later high RPM idle kicked in and everything seemed ok. Now that I got these new plugs my car doesn't hesitate to start. The engine runs much smoother now, but I didn't notice a power boost, except when I'm gunning it; the throttle response did get a fraction of a bit more responsive (more torque?). I also bought a plug wire set from AutohausAZ, this could also explain my good experience with the plugs?

No grand total because I bought way more stuff in this order.

Anyhow, I know these plugs work because two days after I installed them my check engine like came on. I ran the codes and the computer was saying: "manufacturer control: emissions", evap etc... four codes went off and they all had something to do with the plugs. After I ran the diagnostic the check engine light went off and my car is running rich--in a good way...haha. I definitely recommend them.

P.S. If you think the Pulstar Spark Plugs are good, you got it all wrong. Firestorm Spark Plugs are the next generation plugs. Robert Krupa (google him), master mind behind this invention, somehow retrofitted a plug that creates a low energy plasma in the combustion chamber. Meaning a colder, more complete ignition of gas (no detonation whatsoever). When these come out premium gas is going to be a thing of the past. Fuel efficiency is like 50%, 60%? fewer emissions, never misfires, no gap growth...the list goes on. However Bosch, just like Bank of America is doing the smaller banks, doesn't want anything to do with the firestorm and is hindering their eventual debut by not working with him. When these plugs come out into the market, I'll post (in the freebie section) a raffle for my pulstar plugs.
