hello boys and girls...been lurking around for some time and finally decided it was time to join. Been able to resolve issues with previous threads but this problem is unique to what I have seen or read.

I recently acquired a ml55 2001 model...love it! But a unique issues with the indicator has cam about. None of the right hand side indicators work nor does the gauge bezel indicator work. I checked the the fuse and relay only to find a busted fuse. When replacing the fuse and checking the indicator the fuse would pop in a matter of nano seconds . It wouldn't even let a flicker in. I went through a few fuses attempting to see what the prob,em was with no resolution. I even swapped the relay to see if the relay was causing it but that didn't work either.

I have also checked the bulbs to make sure they were seated correct and both in working order.

any help would be much appreciated!

thanks guys

Stop trying new fuses. Each time fuse blows there is jolt that will lead to wiring failure.

Take time to update your user profile with vehicle and location info.

Try to describe problem better. Which fuse? Which relay?

Welcome to the forum.

thanks for the reply.

I swapped fuse #25 which is for the right turn signal and relay 4 I believe which is for the dash indicator. I stopped the fuse swap after all the swap attempts .

I'm in Houston tx I drive 2001 ml55

I will update info when I get to a computer working off a tablet right now

Relay k4 operates left turn signal. K7 runs right side. Fuse f25 protects right side.

Do you have volt/ohm/amp meter? Or test light?

quite risky because you might end up blowing more fuses potentially damaging the cables but disconnent all components attached to said fuse at the component end and try again. Then if fuse does not blow reconnect one by one to see which one causes the short.

if the fuse blow with all components disconnected your fault might be in the wiring between it.

Now does anyone have a fuse placement chart, for his car.

Welcome.

Once you go and buy a assorment pack of fuses for your car and have the placement chart, you can start a diagnosis. But until you do those two thing's, no one can help you.

Also you could have replaced the fuse with a fuse of lower amprage. Say 10 amps lower? And pulled the bulb's ALL out of the right side, then turned the signal on. If the fuse blew you would have known where to go next with diagnosis.

Also you can easly pull the hazzards and see if they blink. That would tell you if the wiring was ok.
