Last time on the road was 1980 and has been in storage since then in a warehouse.

Came with no engine, so will be sourcing a 280 engine or maybe even a domestic power plant transplant. Or I may even part her out but that is a last resort.

I'm looking forward to learning about this old Lady, her name is Ingrid by the way.

280S motor

I have the correct and good motor / trans for this car, here in San Diego area, 91977 on a pallet
This has a fresh valve job (head work $550) and a rebuilt transmission ($1,400).
Bolt it in and go,

easier than that 454 (unless there is the need for speed),
then get a 6.3 version.

Kind Sir, how much shekels are we talking about?

San Diego is casual drive away for me.

There are a bunch of 6.9 motors available across the country at car-part.com. One 111 type V8 (6.3?) Not so many 2.8's though.

Would make a great Teutonic hotrod.

Have Fun with it!

There's a W116 6.9 in Fontana (I think).

Does the glove box open without a key?

I do not have a key to it, if so, how do I get in there?
You can contact the MB Classic Center, provide proof of ownership (a fax is fine), they can provide you with the "DataCard" for the car, and the datacard will have the keycode. Then you order the key from Key Men - Classic Keys for Classic Cars
or from MB or from your choice of vender.

No to a part out! A new powerplant is in order!!!

OT: Love the black Cali plate.
A complete dirt cheap 6.9 in Maryland for a donor. Requires a cross country trip though. Probably could not be further away?

Decided to go the domestic route on Ingrid, thanks though.
Cool! I'm curious what route you go. At some point, if I get back to the US any time soon, I'll be swapping a Chevy crate engine with a supercharger into my 109.

Also, look up a guy on the forum, an Aussie named Gwunta. He put a turbo Chevy engine into his 108. He might be able to offer some help too.

Thanks. I'll do that.
