HI, just got my 2007 c230 sport a few days ago!!! Im so happy!!!!! I have no pre wiring, nothing in the center storage unit, so no luck on getting the puck thing so I bought this: Amazon.com: DICE mO-MB-BT71 mObridge Fiber Optic iPod Kit with Bluetooth for Mercedes-Benz: Electronics
I was talking with a guy in CA about removing the CD Changer and putting this in its spot, using the power from the CDC and cable for the ipod. Does this sound like it would work? Has anyone done it? does anyone have a pdf or video?

thanks,

Philip

I have one of these (re-branded by Cartronics) in my SL600, connected up similar to what you propose. Go out to Cartronics.com, click on the "manuals" or "videos" links, they have most MB models covered there.

I am happy with mine, though I had to R&R all of the trim panels & cargo boxes behind the seats to do it. IMHO the disappointing thing is how hamstrung you are by the HU's user interface, but that's not the box's fault.

How do you like your Mobridge? I am thinking about putting one in my 06 C230 sport. I would have to do the same thing as you are doing. Pulling out the CDC and putting the Mobridge in there. Tell me, on phone calls does the other person hear an echo from the system? I use to have a bluetooth and the echo was my wifes biggest issue. Thanks

I have read that the integration leaves a lot to be desired. Have the DICE box in my 4runner. It emulates the CD changer, makes playlist/song selection a hassle. I think I'd research it a little more.

On my SLK, I decided to just replace the head unit altogether. Cost is more, but it works and integrates the way I want it.

I put in a Kenwood 8120. Has Nav (garmin), bluetooth (parrot) with an external mic that works well, ipod control that's well integrated and can play video from it, backup camera and can play dvd's (haven't used this)

Installed a Can-Bus adapter for steering wheel control, auto dimming when headlights turn on and auto display of backup camera when in reverse.

I decided to remove the Audio 20 when I discovered that I couldn't change the radio presets with the steering wheel controls-wonder who's the genius that designed it.

Negatives: no song display on the small dash screen, but the 7 inch screen is plenty. Phone buttons on steering wheel don't function, but the head unit is touchscreen and automatically interrupts and displays a large button.

Overall cost aprox 1200. Can get a less expensive head unit, but why compromise? Others have replaced with NTG 2.5 as well. Might be more complicated since I've heard that involves changing some of the computer settings.
