My new smoked indicators turned up on my doorstep today. Woah! what a dramatic difference they have made to the appearance of the car. I have been reading some topics topics on clear indicators in the last couple of months and remember Ross (420 SE) saying in 1 of the topics to order the smoked indicators as they go well with the colour of the headlights, thanks for the advice I am glad I took it. After no luck trying to source them locally found a brand new pair on ebay.de. Sent out last Thursday arrived this morning (pretty good with weekends/public holidays atm). Before and After Pics are below, enjoy.

they do look pretty good. THANK you for not getting the clear ones. the look horrid unless you have a white car. just a suggestion, convert the signle bulbs to LEDs. then you won't see the bulb color. superbrightleds.com has everything you need at great prices and with great quality. use a voltage thingamajig to stop the relay from doubleing speed. you just put a positve to it, then put clips on the wiring to the bulb socket. idk why people say it's so hard to convert to LEDs.. my whole car is converted and i couldn't be happier.

thats what the voltage regulators are for. you only need them for the turn signals, though. otherwise the relay will blink twice as fast. i have front dome light, rear dome light, under door lights, license plate lights, running lights, brake lights, rear sidmarker lights, reverse lights, city lights, trunk lights.. the only thing that isn't LED are the map light, and the two reading lights in back.

BenzQC,

Very nice car.

The rims go very well with the color of your car.

Looks like it is sitting a bit high though. Consider getting a set of H&R or Eibach lowering springs, it'll improve the stance quite a bit. :)

Thanks for the compliments ;)

Yeah lowering is something that will definitely be getting done soon. I was never a fan of lowering because of the culture of fully sick ricer boys. However with this car a slight lowering would set it off just right, not too much just enough for the wheel to fill the guard better.

Wow! That looks great! It really helps to 'update' the look of the car.

I've got an Arctic White car with clear corners, the smoked ones I looked at were too dark for my tastes on such a bright car.

Benz QC,

Changing the indicators indeed make a dramatic difference, don't they. Even made the license plate look clearer:D I contemplated clear front blinkers but in the end just put and kept the orange euro front corners on the car when the euro light conversion was made.

The rims on your car look very good also.

Slight lowering looks well and does help cornering performance; My vehicle has Eibach springs but H&R ones are also an excellent choice for these cars. Bilstein comfort shocks work well for all around use with this set up, and my car has a very slight raked appearance, the front sits slightly lower with the Eibachs.

I notice that you have wisely invested in sheepskin covers to protect the leather seats/headrests on your car.

I did this immediately when I purchased mine, got expensive fitted New Zealand ones from a factory in California specializing in them, for the front seats only, and after ten years couldn't be happier. Not only saved the leather but they really keep one warm in winter and cool in summer. And they haved lasted well over the years, only had them rmoved and dry cleaned one time.

The sheepskins were already there when I got the car. I was originally going to remove them until i saw the seats underneath aren't actually leather, they are suede! I dunno if they are called "suede" but it's the same trim like on the old Audi RS4 (B5 shape). Because that suede is almost impossible to clean I left the sheep skins where they are.

Alcantara (sp.) upholstery. More common in Europe but virtually never seen in the USA.

I've seen a few cars here (Japan-spec) that have the velour interior.

I know it wears better over time than leather....but I still never really understood it. It's a different mindset I suppose, I love the leather!

Hey BenzQC they look great, the smoked are soooo much better.

Looking forward to seeing them up close at the SEQ GTG on the 12 May.

You can get the silver, flash orange, from Repco.

Cheers

lol Repco is where I got the orange ones from :) . Speaking of the SEQ GTG where did the thread for that go? I'll do a search for it see what decisions have been made etc. 12 May is my brothers birthday but thats ok we usually just go out for dinner on birthdays.

And once again thankyou very much for recommending the smoked indicators the clear ones would have been :gay:
