I just picked up this one owner 1991 420 SEL with 135,000 kms :D

It does need some work, front shocks, steering box, tires (Made in 2002) and the A/C is not blowing ice cold but the price was great.

Congrats. Great looking machine. My 91 420 has been bullet proof. One of my favorite daily cars I have owned.

Congrats, and welcome to the wonderful, frustrating & expensive world of MB ownership!

She looks like a beaut, how about posting some interior pics? And pray tell, is that a lovely Porsche 928 I see in one of your pics? Wouldn't mind seeing pics of that either..lol. =)

I have not detailed the interior yet so I only have the one before pic. It is amazing the amount of car you can buy for under $5k.

The 928 is a 86.5 (Has the S4 brakes)

Wow. I'd eat a bug for a chance to drive that Porche 928.

Back in the day when they first appeared, I was mesmerized by the sleek aerodynamics of that car, and even today, that minimalist teardrop shape hasn't aged at all. That beast remains a timeless icon of automotive form and function.

Holy moly..that is the cleanest and nicest '86 928 I have ever seen! Just beautiful, and props to you for keeping the interior in such great shape. How has she been on repair costs and upkeep? I was just looking at them on ebay after I commented on yours, but I'm kinda scared the repair and upkeep costs would dwarf what I pay now with my MB.

Damn. That's quite a stable of cars. Well done. I got to drive a 928 for about 10 minutes a couple of years back; It was its own class of car. I'm a 420 guy too. I hope you love yours as much as I do mine. I grind mine through a 110 mile/day round trip commute in Dallas traffic, and it's rock-solid.

The 928 is not a cheap car to maintain but if you buy one that has been looked after it is not crazy either. I would guess if you do all of the work your self it would be $500-$1000 a year to maintain.

My car is in great shape but needs some work,

Timing Belt
Shocks
Motor Mounts & Pan Gasket
A/C Compressor

If I did everything at my mechanic who charges $60 a hour that would be a $3k bill and that is the cash price!!!

I did buy the car cheap ($5500 Canadian) knowing it needed some work but I have put about 12k miles this year and if I did the work I would assume it would not need anything major for awhile.
