It’s a handle for the trunk. With this handle you don’t have to touch the paint.
The handle on the inside is kind of awkward to use if you try and close the trunk slowly.
The handle doesn’t touch the paint; it rests on the inserts behind the plate.
It’s very functional, I’m just not sure I like the way it looks.
What do you think?

Have you thought about

a chrome license plate frame? It makes sense, since you have the chrome headlight rings. I have the one MBZ sells online. It is very plain with caps to cover the mounting screws and looks good with the trunk handle. Once you get used to using the handle, you won't want to be without it. No more smudges on your paint.

I ordered the Chrome License Plate Frame two days ago.
Dealer said next day service. I guess that's typical for dealers. I think the frame will take up a little more room so the handle doesn't look so obvious.
