just picked this 1994 Mercedes E320 convertible and added it to my current 1993 300D diesel. Head gasket and wiring harness has been done and top hydraulics are not leaking (not sure if they have been rebuilt) Top was replaced year ago by previous owner and works flawlesly. Any suggestions??

I have AMG monoblocks that came from 1999 S-class with 245-45-18 tires do you think those would fit on W124 without sticking too much? thank you all

Paid $5000 for it

It's astounding how cheap these Cabriolets have become. My Cab is "worth" half what I paid for it. Good for you to wait:)

Also good that you're familiar with the issues with 124 cars, and know what to look out for.

I would change the hydraulic fluid for the top, and then continue to do so once a year. You know to check the flex disks and ball joints.

Is the interior blue? Was the top cover painted blue? I thought that cover was always body color.

The Cab is a complicated but great automobile:thumbsup:

Thanks for your reply. The one that have under 100K miles still bring pretty penny but i am more worried about age then miles. How do you replace top fluid? Any instructions on web? Where to get fluid from?

The interior is blue and so is top. I believe if it came with blue leather from factory then it had blue top too. Even though this is not original top I think it is factory color match. I like blue top it is different plus its new so I cant complain. Do you know if w140 AMG wheels with 245-45-18 tires would fit this fine machine?

W140 wheels will fit but have different offset, shank width and ball seat (lug bolts.)

Only C class, CLK, SLK and some R129 are the correct offset.

W140 wheels are going to be a problem. The offset is wrong and the bolts themselves are 14mm vs 12mm. Trying to stuff anything with a rim width wider than 7.5" gets into the ill advised area of very low profile rubber. There are many choice out there, don't make one that will compromise the dynamics of the suspension and ride quality.
