New MB Owner and Benzworld Member

We recently gave up our 2005 Z71 Chevrolet Suburban (which we rather enjoyed until mechanical issues developed shortly after we hit 40,000 miles) for a 2006 certified pre-owned R350 with <16,000 miles. Wow, what were we thinking? What a complete and utter difference in handling, comfort and control. We have had VW's, Audi's, and the dreaded Honda Odyssey.

We have a large family and need the family truckster type of vehicle and we have finally found what I think is the perfect vehicle. Now I understand why they call the R series their crossover. Not quite SUV but very capable and refined; rock solid in the deep snow.

I have been searching the site for information on how to install a trailer hitch on the R-series but have not found a comprehensive walk-through. MB Parts was of no use so I have ordered all aftermarket parts and will try and post my experience for others to use.
