It was time to upgrade the tires anyway, so i looked around and found these Twin Spokes from the 50th anniversary SL550 made in 2007.

They fit perfect.. They did require shorter bolts...

Yes Sir, 18x8.5 on front, 18x9.5 on rear. 255 width tires on front and 285 width on rear.

That front bumper really dislikes me, I get it hung up way too often.....

Did you use spacers? I believe the R230s use a higher offset than the R129s, which would make the R230 wheels sit a little further inward toward the center of the car. But then, those tires you have are another cm wider than typical so perhaps that makes up the difference.

They look good. Twinned or not, I always like a 5-spoke design. Somehow they are just more attractive than a 6-spoke style.

Yes, these were my favorites of all the later model wheels..

No spacers, i can fit my finger between the tire and the strut, i hear and feel no rubbing..

I was thinking of getting some spacers and using the original bolts, may do that still if it seems to be too close to the strut. Just installed them a few hours ago, need t check them a little closer.

Trade?

I have a set of AMG Monoblocks that came on my car from the factory, i wouldnt mind a set of those split spokes. Hit me up, i have them ready to ship out. I installed a set of Mandrus on my SL right now so I have no real plans for them.

Just saw youre in Maine and Im in Boston not too far! Hmmm.
