Check for pricing with another stealership (more than one).
Seems steep, imo.
Hi Rickman, the auto locksmith asked for $600 but said they "think we can do it" that didn't give me too much confidence plus an independent German Car Mechanic had told me that some of his MB customers have "run into problems" with independent programmers. At this point it looks like this open wallet surgery will be expensive!Have you tried locksmith, many have aftermarket keys and can program it, I'm not sure about valet key, but it's not impossible.
A year or so ago the transmitter in one of my keys stopped working. You couldn’t unlock the doors with it. If you took the keyless start button out the key would start the car.All keys to my car are lost and the dealership wants $950 for a replacement key. Does that sound right? Does anyone have any recent experience ordering MB keys since the chip shortage?
