Hi all, I've had a trio of older BMW's in my day(528e,535i,325) and loved em but now I have a scratch I have to itch and that itch is a 90's 300 Wagon gas or diesel fer road tripping with my wife and our dogs. I'll be rolling around here and the rest of the interwebz getting educated so that I can get the right/best car when I have cash in hand. Thanks all in advance for any info and insite.

Welcome! I can't think of a better all-around vehicle than a 300TE. Tons of space, well built, decent fuel economy (for a German sedan) and plenty of support for the marque.
I used to have the bug for '80s BMW, too. Several E28s and a few E30s. Great cars, but the MB 300 is just iconic.

By the way I wrench on all of my stuff and don't really trust many folks to work on my stuff, my current DD's are an 03 V6 4runner Sport (lifted and sitting on 32" Cooper STT's) and my good old 91 3/4 ton Suburban sitting on 33" STT's. I'm looking for a nice comfy ride that I can pile miles on with proper care.

@crs82 I really miss that old 535i what a nice car, easy to work on and great to drive. Just get new wheels so ya don't have to deal with those damned TRX Michelins. The 300's are an iconic ride thats why the wife and I are eyeballing these. My buddy has an older Merc diesel sedan that is just flawless and beautiful.

I always told myself I would get an E28 M5. When those arrived in NA, my jaw just hit the floor. They were a lot like the W124 500E: really close in appearance to the base model, but just the right amount of mods to make them look right.
