I went to the AutoBac, one of the Japanese auto store in Stanton, California yesterday and found one interesting gadget. It's called a "Ritz Powershift" basically you plug it in your cigarette lighter socket and leave it on. I plugged it in the rear socket and just leave it on.

It says it will tune up electricity of your car and will increase torque power, fuel efficiency and reduce car emission and blah blah. Since gas price is too high in california and the store provide 15 day return policy, I thought I would just give it a try.

It is expensive item $99.99 a piece  , but I thought it would pay me back if this gadget returns me saving 10% of MPG which the item is supposed to be performed.

Here's the website you can take a look at it.
If you're an expert on electricity, please check and leave me a note.
Boost Power, Save Gas, Reduce Car Emission

My G500 only runs 13 MPG since I bought it.
I usually filled 22 gallons (Shell 91) and only run 280ish miles.

I'll fill up my gas today and start testing this gadget out.
If not works, I'll definitely return this product back to the store.

Just want to share this one since the forum gets boring :surrender:

I'm not affiliated with this product or the company whatsoever.

Yeah, I have to agree. How can a external electronic component plugged into your 12v power port possibly be able to interface with your mapping program or any other system influencing your G's computer to alter it's set parameters to run more efficiently. Yeah, I think snake oil all the way bro.

Not sure what counts as expert, but I can claim a BSEE amongst my other sins. I'm afraid you've been robbed. Get back there and get a refund before it's too late.
Well. I have 14 days left for return/refund.

I will give it a try since it won't hurt me anything. Thanks for your concern.

It is actually a miniature cold fusion reactor. It gives electricity to the system and the alternator has nothing to do. That way you save the fuel that would have to power the alternator.

Not really, because I garantee if I looked under the hood, said alternater is still spinning wether it's producing an output or not. Spinning alternator= no gain in MPG. Come on guys, don't be pulled in by such cheezy schemes!! Cold fusion reactor??? Yours for $99.95????!!!!! I sure hope you don't really believe that.

Of course the alternator is spinning! Because it gets power it becomes an electric motor. It helps the main engine and hence extra savings.

Even if you supplied the alternator with enough current to convert it from a generator to a motor, do you really think it would make that much of a difference? sure, there would be less resistance for hte motor to turn it, but, still... better off getting rid of the alternator, and useing solar cells... too bad you will never be able to drive when the sun isnt bright :)
