I just bought an 06 CLS 500 and I have some questions:

-Do the car have an integrated bluetooth system? Or I have to buy a special kit to connect it to my cell phone.

-How can I make the navigation screen turn on automaticly when I start the car, cause right now, the screen stay black (off) until I press the map button.

-Is it normal that when I press that map or navigation button, the radio comes on at the same time? It must be possible to have the radio and the navigation works seperatly.

Thanks

1. Bluetooth is an option. The unit is about the size of 3 cigars side by side and sits in the glove box on a little shelf on the drivers side of the inside of the center console box. It is silver and has blue light near the top. If you don't have one, you can buy one for about $600.

2. The Command System returns to whatever settings you were using when the car was turned off. The audio (radio/satellite/cd/aux) is separate from the navigation system and they have separate volume controls (and the bluetooth phone volume is separate too. You adjust the volume (and audio settings -bass, treble, balance, fade, etc.) while the item is playing. So you adjust the nav volume while the nav is saying something.

You may wanna check to see if your car is pre-wired for Bluetooth. I'm under the impression that this wasn't standard on all the '06 CLS500's. Maybe I'm wrong, but just confirm that you have the plug for the bluetooth receiver inside the center console where artdiefenbach described. Also, check ebay as well as the classified section on here and MBWorld for a used Bluetooth receiver. You can typically find them for less than half of retail with relative ease.

My 06 CLS500 doesnt seem to have anywhere to connect the bluetooth piece in the center console.
Im assuming that means it wasnt pre-wired for it.
Are there any options to have it wired so I can have a factory Bluetooth unit in my car?
Thanks!!

You can get it pre-wired, but would probably not be cheap.

Check this web site out:

CarTronics, the Leading Authority on Vehicle Electronics

Under Bluetooth Phone System (and ipod) extend the link and you should see iTronic BT (for cars without factory UHI)
I am not related to that web site, but they have it listed for $799.00

If you want to just use AUX cable and listen to music you might have AUX entry in your Glove Box :) like I did when I checked

It's not prewired for Bluetooth. The sytem is fiber optic, so it would cost a fortune to rewire it. Get a Parrot. Your audio guy can install it for $100 or so. It works great. You never have to push a button. Say "Phone" and it wakes up. Say the tag you've given for any number you've loaded and it will dial the number. You can set it so when someone calls you, it just answers. I'm very happy with it. Mine is an older Parrot, but one of these should fit the bill for you: Bluetooth Hands Free Car Kits - Parrot USA Let me know if you have any questions.

PS. Taktikal - You can't have the NAV off and the radio on, if that's what you were asking. It all runs through the COMAND system and it's either on or off. Why would you want to shut part of it off anyway?
