Shouldn't there be a new B-Class forum for models starting in 2012 -- W246? Any details such as available models and actual W245 ending year and W246 beginning year would be appreciated (2012 - 2013?), so we can at least try to get it right?

The last model year of the B was 2011 - in Canada only, I am not sure about other countries.

Thanks, it looks a little fuzzy from what I've been able to glean. Right now I have W245 ending in 12, and W246 beginning in 12. It seems to vary according to country, so that was my way of playing it safe. Not really sure if it's right though...

Renault engine!

...I think. It's certainly not a derivative of the old A/B engine.

So there was no B-Class available in 2012?

It's true that they're homely - but not as butt-ugly as the larger Mercedes.

No 2012 model, in Canada.....

The new W246 B Class has been on the road in the UK since March of this year.
Australia..Europe...Asia..???

Let's hope that the new owners join the BW W246 forum soon to give us their impressions and feedback.

Saw one at the Boundary Road MB parking lot. It has parking sensors on the front and rear bumpers. 'BlueEfficiency' on the passenger door. No 'B200' on the hatch. Front bumper has the long rectangle European license plate holder. Steeling wheel on the left side. Manual trans with leather seating. Took a long good look at it and the current B next to it. I don't like the new B.

The stripper is $30 so that's about the same as before (the car's made in Hungary now, maybe that's a good thing!). Renault engine too.

The B 250 (W246) are arriving at the MB dealers finally. Had my first test drive and was very impressed with this "more refined" B. Smooth and quiet were my first impressions of this car and I'm sure that all of the new owners will be very satisfied.

Quite a bit lower to step into and it shows as a beautiful layout when in the drivers seat. Looking for the floor shifter was my first surprise as it's a little controller on the steering. Paddles too..

Standard Canadian version has a nice powerful torquey turbo'd engine. Very quick when necessary....... but no manual and no cloth for Canada. Artico(vinyl) or real leather are the 2 choices for us here.

Great new standard features too...will be a pleaser for those that get one..........starts at $29,900 for us...

yes, $30k is not bad at all considering what you get. compare a diesel Jetta or Beatle automatic, both of which would be above $33K. It's just those incessant 'little' hassles like starter, CV boots, sunroof (yes mine won't open anymore), rust etc. Maybe one should max out on the warranty and then get rid of it. BTW, I don't like the lower seating and much preferred the present style

I doubt I'd ever buy another Mercedes of any kind. I will test a 246 at the "STEALER" as DEVOURS calls it (well, except for the posting above) but I would not spend that much on any new car again.

Fair enough! So how come it's a dealer sometimes and a stealer other times?
