The top of my center arm rest on my 95 E320 is very warn. The dealership said it would cost $1200 to replace. Isn't that the most ridiculous thing you have ever heard. Does anyone else have the same problem and if so how did you fix yours?

My 95 black interior Cab needed one, found it on ebay for under $200, used, but totally acceptable. :)

BTW, I set an ebay / advanced search so I got emailed when it came up for sale. It took 7 weeks or so.

Thank you for the quick replys. The problem is that the 94-95 W124's have two piece armrests like this
so cover in the link would not allow the armrest to open.

You might try a few of your local upholstry shops. They would certainly have the know how and materials to replace the armrest cover. Maybe try one that does custom cars or hot rods..

Good Luck,

Jayare

Two piece..DUH !!!
I should have known that...

Again if structurally sound and not ripped or torn then you can use a leather dye to freshen it up...

I use a brand called "Leather Magic" as they have the standard MB colors available.

I've done complete interiors years ago in old Jags and Aston Martins with "Leathertique"...you oil to soften, sand, fill cracks and dye...very common in the UK restoring Connoly hides......

I purchased a later model roll top and installed in my 1988 300CE...
Piece I bought was Cream Beige and I have Palomino...
Results below....

Jayare, thank you I don't know why I didn't think of that. I will go to a local shop and see what they can do and if they can't help me, then I will use the leather magic that RBYCC suggested.

Thanks for the tips.

Thank you. This is EXACTLY what I need. I will post pictures.

Also DJ, that is a great idea except to my knowledge, there are really no junkyards with a good selection of mercedes in the metro detroit area, but I will keep looking.
