I'm looking to get a new suspension system and wanted something that could keep me around stock height but offer some more stiffness so that when i turn sharp i wont have the tires rub the wheel well. Any one have anything that works but is $800 or under? Thanks

MB sportline kit is a great all-around solution while keeping the factory comfort.

As expected, factory parts come with factory prices unless you find a suitable donor.

You can find sportline springs and shocks at rockauto.com with reasonable prizes :)
Check up on your anti-sway bars and that other rubber parts and bushings in the suspension are OK while you are at it?

Before you consider suspension the question is "why are your tires rubbing" ???

^ What he said.

If you want stock height but less body roll aren't we talking beefier roll bars?

I put Bilstein HDs on my 95 E00 for a firmer ride keeping the stock springs for stock ride height. That reduced body roll a little, but roll bars would really be needed for significant difference.

I have much wider tires on my e320 so i guess its not even the wheel well its the fender. The tires are so wide that when i turn sharp or have anyone in the back it rubs on that body trim piece. I can upload a picture of what I'm talking about if necessary. And if it is the roll bars where would i find better ones?

I can't tell you how many times I've seen someone become enamored with a set of rims with the wrong width and/or offset, who then becomes a slave to all the attempts to shoehorn them into place without rubbing or bump steering. The short answer is that you simply have the wrong rims and/or tires on there, virtually guaranteed. Rectify that, and your options open up tremendously

Hello:

On my 94 E320T:
Front Limo bar, 036 rear bar and a set of Bilstein sports. It's perfect, handles better than my 036 for now... but my E60 suspension just arrived so that will soon be rectified.

The Limo and 036 bar along with the Bilsteins should be under $800 if you go through partsdotcom for the bars AND dont forget to order new bushings.

But..... like Z said, get the correct wheels with the correct offset corrected FIRST before throwing any money at something in the hope of better handleing.
In fact... before you worry about handleing, make sure your subframe bushings are good, you can use R129 parts, they be Sportline now. Same with the front LCA, use early Sportline bushings or LCA's for the firmest ride.
Kind Regards

Ron

In all reality the tires aren't that big of a deal, its the fact that the suspension gives so much. It feels like I'm riding a boat. What is the cause of that? Bad shocks or springs? Which one, or both?

I'm not sure the sportline has a version for the E320. You might have to go with the Eibach Pro Kit Springs and Bilstien HD or sport shocks. Probably the best money I ever spent on my W124 :)
Eibach NLA new for w124..Only could find H&Ras of 3 months ago. I put H&Rs on my 95 E320 and it looks good but still rides "normal/stockish" may be a little stiffer but not at all sporty..but I like it. Still rides like a MBZ and looks better!

Guys you can still get E320 Sportline stuff, member klobbr just did so for his 320Ce/E320 Cabriolet. The tyre rub mate is going to be either incorrect offset or incorrect width/size.
Give us some parameters and we can check it for you.

Could be both, tired springs and shocks/struts. Have you checked all suspension bushings? Control arms, sway bar, links, etc.? All of them slightly worn can add up to a lot of slop. These things coupled with a tight tolerance tire and wheel combo, it's going to wallow around and rub. I went with H&R springs and got the right amount of drop. My wheels are 7x16 ET35 with 215/55-16's and no rub in the hardest of dips and turns. The H&R's give it a slightly firmer ride with slightly tighter handling. But it's no sports car.
