I don't want to jinx it, but the deal is all but done. Just the matter of crossing t's, dotting i's, and handing over the bulk of the money. I've put a retainer down and bought a plane ticket to go get it.

I love to hear about great deals for others, but finally a sweet deal that comes my way. And this car couldn't have found a more appreciative owner.

Here's just a little peak...
(ALL original, one owner.)

This car is a 1982. Turbodiesel. It was always pamered, always garaged, all service records, no sun damage, no paint fade, perfect dash, no rust, no accidents, no dings, original paint, original EVERYTHING, etc. The guy says his Mercedes collection is just getting to be too much trouble than he wants to deal with(!). He's also letting go of 3 or 4 other MB's of other models. This was the only 123, though.

I guess he has a certain amount of money he thought would be fair to get for his cars and is shooting for that number. How much for this <72K original mile beauty, you're asking? I am paying $7,500. But, the tach doesn't work. My guess is that the tach amp is bad. Incredible, isn't it? I know it is worth more if I wanted to put it in a different market, but I am going to cherrish this car myself. Besides, there's nobody else I would trust with it.

First thing I will have to do is go over it with a fine-toothed comb and clean, polish, condition, etc. the entire car. I can't wait to get my hands on that engine. 72K... drool.

Looks really nice. I've got 2 new ones I'll post this weekend, both are not 123's but both are very neat.

Hmmmm...looks like a car I've seen somewhere before. Is that color Blue-Green/Petrol? What color is the interior?

I love the Coupes

Check for code 877 Blue Green/Petrol when you get a chance. Wow, Black interior, not your usual combination.

From a 1982 Mercedes brochure:

"The 300CD pioneered the idea of practical diesel power in an exotic limited production touring coupe. For 1982 the 300CD pioneers the idea of high performance turbodiesel power in this sporting body style-making an exotic automobile immeasurably more so by making it one of the fleetest diesel automobiles the world has ever seen...Pickup from a standing start may astonish you..."

Enjoy
Gary
