Welcome to R ownership. Highway cruising is smooth in this vehicle. You're going to enjoy the ride to Kamloops. I purchased mine in Vancouver and it didn't have the block heater installed. Typical west coast vehicle. Most dealers don't install one even thought the cost is relatively low. Our mild weather just doesn't justify the added cost and I suspect most people wouldn't even ask about it when purchasing...but it would come in handy during temporary trips to colder climes. I took my car to Sask during the winter and had no problems with cold starts...even in minus 35 degrees Celcius.
