Hello,
I'm in need of the part # for a wiring harness to the starter, alternator, oil pressure sensor and oil level sensor.
I have call the local MB dealer and they will not give it to me. This is not the first time they have done this.

My car is a 1995 S320

Any help would be great,
Lesko

Thanks guys,
That link was a good read.

My vin# is WDBGA33E0SA217595

One more question, It looks as if one of the lines goes up in front of the firewall behind the engine and into a metal type tube. The tube looks like it heads to the area of the computers and were you plug in to connect to the diagnostic port.
Is this true?

For the year 1995 onwards the part number is A140 540 27 30, The cable does not connect with the computers but when you get the new one you will see how easy it is to fit, its pretty much self explanitary by looking at the new wiring:thumbsup:

There is some data as well as further images regarding replacement of this harness that was accomplished during the REWIRE and components replacement beneath the Passenger floorboard on a W140 S-klasse...... a short circuit caused an intermittent electrical issue.

A Dealership contacted us for an assist on repeat follow-up and Mfg. Warranty issue....... Seems one of their Mechanics crushed the harness beneath the right exhaust manifold during reinstall of the Passenger side head assembly with exhaust sectional reassembly/ installation!

A note: The passenger floorboard DOES NOT require disassembly to replace this harness.

Only the under-carriage heat shield will need to be temporarily removed for install of the "twist connector and B+ connector, etc".

regards, Robert

Jesus these things are tanks. I've only got the six banger and my floor jack just barely lifts it up. OF course it's right where I need to lay under the behemoth to get to the wiring. When I first went to look at the car a couple weeks ago before bringing it home on Sat I was kind of surprised that it wasn't as big as I thought it would be, until I just barely got it into my freaking garage, and now trying to raise it up it's even more unreal. I'm actually glad it's missing the splash shields (will replace later), you can see all the empty space where the exhaust for V8 or V12 would live. These things are unreal, they're massive.

If it falls on me it should at least make for a quick death...LOL

Silver Benz,
Have you ever done this before? I was up till 2AM trying to get under the car unsuccessfully but today started it with a screwdriver and got it up on some ramps and it's completely disconnected, however I cannot for the live of me get any kind of wrench on either of the bolts on the tube that is on the harness. I'm screwed at this point and don't know the trick, like if disconnecting the back transmission crossmember will lower it down enough for me to get something on either of the bolts. I feel like I'm going to loose my mind on this one.
