Raminr,
You need EWA and WIS includes all MB models. Check ebay if you can find it or shipping is crazy expensive send me pm I can may transfer a copy of mine via internet.

Thank you for the reply. It is my first car and also the my first experience with a car. And I live in Turkey, which makes it impossible for me to get anything from ebay. So could you - if it is not a big trouble- send me those?

Translated user's manual

Hello

I have been looking for a service manual myself for quite some time. Recently I found one in Russian. I split the pdf file into smaller ones, translated each one to english and merged them back together.
As a result I have a service/user's manual with most parts well understandable (some words were not translated).
Since I had to work a bit for this manual, I would like to share this to spare anyone else's time and efforts.

Good luck,
Michiel Moerman

Your A-classes are W169, unless a coupé, than it's a C169, like mine :grin

The manual I uploaded before is for W168, the first A-class model (1997-2004).

You can find an interactive W169 manual here:

A-Class - Interactive Owner´s Manual [Start]

It's for the facelift W169, so don't expect your cars to self-park :wink
It is mostly relevant though - head units are different: next generation NTG2.5 - but the rest is pretty much the same.

I bought myself a good old-fashioned Haynes manual, when I drove W168s, but it went with my last one ... You should be able to get it on eBay for not much money I would think.

I do have a pdf of standard owner's manual, just not the workshop one.

My 2001 w168 A170cdi has yet again, got a bust automatic box, P1886, and near enough no drive in 1st after clearing fault codes with my Delphi VCI , so I guess a third 1st gear clutch has burst or burned out but the cost of removing the gearbox to replace it about what the car is worth.
I read somewhere a replacement engine from MB was about 1200€, is there a similar deal on gearboxes, seeing how they built such a load of crap they should do a cheap replacement.

This is the third clutch. Original, then so called modified and now this one, also modified. I have a leak since the last job from the cooler pipe on the top next to the breather, I think it's cross threaded as I can't shift it one way or the other so I just top up on a weekly dipstick check.
I had the faults cleared by Yransmatic, here in Estepona and it was good for a week but there was definitely slippage in first. I bought a Delphi VCI by and software for my old Acer Travelmate which worked fine and I cleared the faults but no drive in 1st. And of course no indication on the Speedo. Can't afford to dump it and can't afford to repair it. Might scrap enough for parts but it's the labour that kills it. Rest of car is great.

LOL, as if. Maybe you should start a class action and recruit some A-Class owners as members.

Just trawl your local scrapyards for an autobox from a crashed old W168. There aren’t too many left on the roads. Make sure it was written off in a moving traffic incident, and not flatbedded to its resting place with an F’ed gearbox. Or buy one from an auto breaker’s webstore, for more.

Hi Jim, and welcome to BenzWorld.

I've sent you a PM, with a link to the owner's manual and accessories brochure.

There was a Haynes W168 workshop manual published (unlike unfortunately, for W169) - I had one, and passed it on, when I sold my last W168.

Pretty sure you can find one on eBay.
can you send me the workshop manual please, my email is [email protected]. Thanks in advance.

As Paul600600 said above, an electronic copy of EPC/WIS will take care of your workshop needs, but here's a pdf copy of Owner's Manual and also an Accessories Brochure:

As always, the link is only valid for 7 days, so get it before it expires :grin
Would you be able to make this document available, again?
I just got a 2001 W168 A160 manual transmission with 43000km on it here in the Netherlands.
The owner's manual (and any other information) would be great!
