Hey guys, my brother called me and he lost his key and is stuck in an olive garden parking lot.

I am getting ready to head out there with my trailer (3hr drive) to get him and the car.

Anybody know how I can get this thing to roll to make my life easier getting it up on the trailer?

Thanks!

Thanks for the owners manual attachment.

Unfortunately, we don't have another key, and I don't see anything in the OM that helps.

Some vehicles have a procedure to manually get the car into neutral if the battery is dead. It appears this doesn't have one which will complicate things considerably.

Yours is a W222, I‘m referring to a W221, but:

Faced a similar issue, and with the powers of Google, and my whole toolbox on hand, couldn’t find a way to do it without using a scan tool (Autologic in my case) to command the trans into neutral. I couldn’t believe there was no emergency release. Maybe get underneath and manipulate the shift linkage?

I'm sure you've already considered all options... If you call Mercedes Roadside Assistance, they will tow the vehicle to the nearest M-B Dealership for you. And the tow operator will be able to move the vehicle onto the flatbed without dragging/skidding (they have multiple safe ways to do this), so you don't have to worry about the car not being in neutral.

Good luck!

MB dealer wants over 1k for a new key. The one local to me used to charge less than 300 for a new fob, blade, and programming...

Trying to minimize cost. I have a couple old keys I can have them program and should be 1 hour of labor, I just gotta get the car to them and order a blade.
