Hi.

I'm trying, with no luck so far, to find the following custom things for my 1976 280SLC:

1. Chrome rings for the instrument gauges. (I can only find for other chassis' such as W126)
2. Chrome frame for the automatic gearbox
3. Zebrano wood gearshift knob and stick WITH Mercedes logo

I appreciate any help with pointing me in the right direction.

I need the chrome ring around the ignition key but it is made of unobtanium.
I got the gearshift knob pictured below on FleaBay, not sure if it is what you have in mind. I suggest you consider the knob only as finding a knob and stick to fit your car is a very tall order.

p.s. just found the purchase history on Ebay at $34 so I clip a screenshot below. Any wood knob will work as you can drill it to fit.

Thank you, PanzerPuff, that knob is a beaut!

Yeah I know, right! Some of those smaller cosmetic parts are either a) incredibly hard to find or b) ridicilously expensive if you somehow do.

The 107's were made for chrome touches though, it just fits that generation so darn good.

Well yes, the part name is correct, escutcheon for ignition, but the part number is different. My EPC says A1236890080, and that SLShop webpage is selling OE Part Number: 1156890080.

The one I am missing was a circle, the one in the pic has a figure 8 shape. I need to figure out the diameter as it might work. Thanks a bunch.
Difference in the early and late models. Later models had a larger ID.

Yes, wrong diameter. I can find sites that sell them but this is the invariant message on ordering:

Subject: mbpartsexpress.com - Order #4796

Hello and thank you for the order. Unfortunately the part you requested has been discontinued by Mercedes-Benz. We will issue you a refund promptly. Thank You, mbpartsexpress.com

It annoys the s*it out of me when online stores don't remove listings for items that are no longer available.

I bought a nice burl one from URO. They probably have Zebrano. No emblem but the shifter chrome handle had the right angles so no fitting issues.

I also bought my Zebrano shifter (right angle, pre-85) from URO :) Love it, just looking for that extra touch of a logo as well. It's all in the details.

By the way, did any of you try out the Caliber Europe RCD120 in your 107? If you're having a more modern audio setup in your car, it's highly recommended. Gives you good tech and options without sacrificing that 70s aesthetic.

URO wood shifter

Many have said it before so just for the record, avoid URO rubber and mechanical parts, they are made of shit. Not sure about what they bring out of the forest. Cheers.
Yes PP , I'm very aware of their poor reputation, particularly for ill fitting seals but my shifter looks fine----time will tell I suppose.

I'll certainly update if it fails!
