I have a 1990 300e that my grandparents gave to me a year ago. Its a nice car but they didnt take real good care of it. There are water spots everywhere. Is there anything I could do to get ride of the water spots?
Ammonia with water or rubbing alcohol should cut the spots. Foam cleaners are easier to use and seem to have a higher ammonia content without being smelly. you can also try water and vinegar solution. I think what is important is to keep all mercedes 300E parts always clean to avoid such problem.
If the water spots have etched into the paint you may be looking at some major polishing. See if you can find a local recomended detailer to come by and take a look at it for you. This way you'll know what you are upp against or can pay them to do the restoration.
