I have been driving my car (probably not the best thing for it) for about a year and a half now, but no matter what I change on it, it still runs pretty rough (the engine shakes when just idling and my MPG is horrible and you could smell heavy fuel when the car is on).
Long story short, I would like somebody who knows a lot about the 1979 450SL to meet me in person some place of their convenience to guide me with the electrical wiring, all vacuum and air lines, and whatever else that would change the air/fuel ratio that could be looked at and/or adjusted. I would prefer somebody that has a '78 or '79 or '80 450SL themselves with the K-Jetronic system, but that's not a must if they know a lot about these cars/systems.
I am currently in Los Angeles, so ideally I would like to meet somebody in LA or SoCal, but if need be, I can drive to anywhere in CA or reasonable distances in AZ or NV. All help will be greatly appreciated, and plus, you'd be returning a 450SL to a better condition and also helping out the Ozone Layer, haha!
