Hello,
My tires are balded and I found a really good deal on a set of OEM 17" wheels from a late model E500 (ET46) with 90% tread left on the 225/55 Michelin tires. I am trying to fit them to my 91 300SE (ET16). They seem to be a bit taller and wider. I can deal with that but the offset is too high and they are rubbing on the inner wheel well. What can I do? adapter or spacers? Does anyone have an extra set of spacers or adapter to sell?

Try a forum search re hub centric spacers / offset / wheels. If not sure how, check the 'Welcome to the Forum' announcement / tutorial on top.
An offset from 11-25 is thought to be ideal for the W126.
There is a wheel and tire fitment sticky.
Cheers

ET46 is WAY to high.

You will find Much on this topic w/ a minimal amount of searching.
