Friend replaced wheels on his '02 E-class and is giving me his old stock wheels.

Here is what I've got.

1987 560SL Stock wheels
15x7 Offset 25mm for the standard rim with
215/60VR15

This is the E-class Info that I could gather.

2002 E320 Stock wheels
16x7.5 Offset 35mm for the standard rim with
215/55VR16 tires

Obviously I'm going to need spacers. I'm guessing I will need either 5mm or 10mm spacers.

With 10mm spacers, this gives the correct offset, but the new wheel is 7.5 inches wider, 0.5 inches wider than stock, so it's going to stick out approximately 0.25 inches closer to the outer rear fender.

With 5mm spacers, this should account for the extra width of the newer wheel.

I'm leaning on 10mm spacers since I don't think the 0.5 inch extra width will be a big deal. Would like confirmation from others here who may have attempted something like this.

I'm thinking I'll need 5mm spacers since the newer wheel is half an inch wider than stock and this should avoid rubbing issues. Can anyone check my assumptions?

the fenders are pretty big on the 560. 10mm further out is not that much, and the half inch shouldnt be that troublesome on the rear for sure. the front has a lot of room too. a 5 mm spacer would give you 30mm, for a wheel that 35mm, so maybe go with the 10mm.

Thanks

Thanks. I'm going with the 10mm. Also, what length bolts should I get?

The stock 560SL bolts are TOO short.

Do you a recommendation on bolt length? My stock 560SL bolts are WAY too short.

Not yet, but almost

Still trying to get Spacers. Planning to go with H&R Spacers, but H&R does not show a listing of their spacers working with a 1987 560SL or R107 chassis.

They have a 5 x 112 with 66.5 center bore spacer and I need to verify that the bolt pattern on the 560SL is 5 x 112 (which I believe it is) and that the center bore is 66.5 (which I believe it is also).

H&R says a pair of 10mm spacers will run me $95
