Ok...Today we are dealing with body work...or at least trying to. I am doing some work in my wheel well because there's a hole I could stick, well, something big, through under my battery and into the wheel well and the cabin. I blame the hole on pine needles, but that is neither here nor there. I need to do some welding in the wheelwell and my problem is the damned sound proofing material in there. I need it off in a few small areas to weld and it is a bloody nightmare. (As if it wasn't bad enough trying to wrestle the fender free of the stuff...) I can't get the stuff off w/ anything but my grinder and that's taking forever. Anybody have any ideas. Please tell me there's some miracle solution that's really cheap and then you just wipe the stuff off!...No huh? Well any other ideas would be welcome too.
Thanks in advance!

Try "Aircraft Stripper" or some other high viscosity paint remover to remove the sound proofing. I think it should work just as well as anything short of just heating it up with a propane hand torch and scraping it off with a putty knife. The paint stripper is available in most automotive paint supply stores.
Good Luck!
