Hey guys,
I finished up changing the the water pump and thermostat last night, double checked everything this morning. I added coolant, etc. No leaks.

When I turned the car on I got a distinct humming noise. Oil also started to leak from what looked like the back of the engine. I wasn't sure what it was so to start the process of elimination by removing the serpentine belt and starting the car for a few seconds. The vibration persisted - no change whatsoever. The only thing I can think of is that I put the harmonic balancer on in the wrong position, thus causing the vibration/humming noise and causing oil to come out of the main seal.

Could this been what happened? Can anyone tell me how to reset the balancer? Please tell me I haven't done any permanent damage :(

When the car ran for a few minutes oil pressure was at 3 bars and the temperature never went above 80.
