Does anyone have the Mercedes recall # for the headlamp aiming instructions that were added to the owner's manual? I asked my local dealer and he didn't know what I was talking about. 1-800-FOR-MERC didn't either. I think it was probably mailed to the previous owner years ago but he never put it in the manual. There is an old post that references the NHTSA recall info, but I need Mercedes recall number in order to call them and get them to find it and send me a copy.

Summary:
CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108, "LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES, AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT." THE OWNER'S MANUAL DOES NOT CONTAIN THE PROPER HEADLAMP AIMING INSTRUCTIONS.

Consequence:
THIS DOES NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE STANDARD.

Remedy:
OWNERS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH HEADLAMP AIMING INSTRUCTIONS, AND DIRECTIONS FOR AFFIXING THESE INSERTS TO THE OPERATOR'S MANUAL. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JULY 15, 2002. OWNERS WHO DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE INSTRUCTIONS WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT MERCEDES-BENZ AT 1-201-573-0117.

Thanks AMPM but I already have that info. That is the NHTSA info I found on their web site and is referenced in the link I posted. What I'm looking for is the MB # associated with this NHTSA Campaign ID # 02V152000. MB uses their own numbering system for recalls (i.e. the one I just had done on my car for some problem with the radiator hose clips was MB REF # 2001100002). The MB # is what I need when I call them and try to get them to find the recall info. I called the NHTSA but they just referred me back to MB. Thanks anyway though. Anyone else?
