I have a 1989 190E 2.6 and I need an engine. I'm located in Chicago and wanted to know if someone knew where I can get a good one from. My engine went bad but everything else was excellent. Try ebay. There was a shop outta Texas that sold brand new rebuilt 3.0 engines from Europe for $1500 shipped. Will fit in your 190E using the original computer too. Comes with a little more kick.

Try David Hendy; he's got a couple of M103 engines laying around for cheap. At least one has a rebuilt head.

David runs a shop in Connecticut I think. Mostly e-class stuff, but he always has a couple of M103s laying around it seems. His ID here is "David Hendy" (imagine that). His ID on eBay is: m-b500e

My last point, however, is there is a guy selling a 2.6 engine about 10 posts below yours.
I can try and do a local search if necessary.

If you are in the mood to dump the car, I might be interested, since I wrecked mine. Still drivable, but a little disgusted with the bodywork I did to get it roadable.

I know a few mechanic types. The trick is getting all the necessary stuff (engine and other necessary parts).
Is the car currently drivable to a work facility?

No, i have to keep my foot on the gas for the car to stay running.. otherwise, it just dies out

i told him it didnt sound like it needed an engine. could be just fuel delivery or vaccumm problem. as much as i want to get rid of my engine, i would rather help you figure the problem before drastic measures. just need to know if it has any strange clicking or knocking. i have a complete engine removal process on another forum.
