I'm new to this forum and new to MB. I'm considering buying a 1993 2.3 automatic with 123k on it. They say it over heats and needs a head gasket. Otherwise, it is in great shape. Asking price is $900. Is it worth the effort? I plan to do the work myself. Are there any gotchas I should be aware of?

Thanks much for your help.

depending on how much it has already overheated you may be looking at a possible engine replacement...

where are you located? most times there are forum members that are selling 190's at better deals then what you'll find on craigslist and the like

Thanks for the info. I moved too late. Car has been sold. I need to get educated on these MBs so I'm ready for the next deal to be had.
