Hey guys you all have given me a ton of help over the last few months as I fix up my 300 SDL. I uploaded a video to Youtube showing a few issues I neeed help with. Mercedes300sdl The first part is showing a diesel leak at the first injector. The leak is coming from that open slot. It bubbles very slowly when you accelerate. The second part shows a part I don't know what it is. The previous owner epoxied the vacuum hose to it. Can someone help me identify it? and the last part shows the belt tensioner shock that is busted. Does someone have detailed directions on how to take this off and the steps and what you need to do it properly. Thanks so much guys for you help

If I understand the picture correctly that could be the crush washer with the notch. Not normal at all in my understanding (but get a better informed opinion from someone who has worked on your engine.) But there shouldn't be noticeable fuel coming out. Possibly exhaust, though.

I suspect that you have a leak further up (probably in the return line) that is pooling at the base where the leak past the washer is causing it to bubble. You might consider putting a paper towel down after cleaning the fuel to verify the source.

How does your car shut off? That expoxied abomination is very near where the shut-off servo should be. It's a part that can be easily replaced; it basically pushes the IP rod to shut off fuel flow when the ignition key is turned.

Someone may be able to post the DIY for this; if it's installed incorrectly, bad things can happen.

That belt tensioner looks like it's toast.

The injector leak could be the heat-shield/related components. It would be best to remove the injector and replace all the related washers/shields in question.

car shuts off fine never had an issue. That vacuum line most go to the interior vents or ac or something cause I always have ventilation issues.

When taking that injector off what is the best way and best tool. Take all the lines off it and use a bent wrench? or open end socket?

I'm a little scared to screw it up.

Any wrench that'll fit without stripping it will do the job:)

^Gene Horr is absolutely correct (as usual!), check those return lines before anything. They tend to deteriorate very quickly. Buy a section of good fuel line and cut it into pieces to replace.
