I realized as I was poking around that I have no jack. A mechanic friend is parting a W124 sedan, do they use the same jack as the W123s? I think he also has a dead 190E (is that a w201?) - is that a possibility?

WOW! That implies that you have used your jack...more than once. I know they're all the same but I didn't think anyone actually used them.

They're actually MUCH easier to use than the ones that come with Japanese (and American?) cars, though not as stable.

Just doesn't seem stable or safe to me. My car doesn't have the spots in the side for that type of jack because of my body kit. I'm always stuck using a really low profile floor jack. I have a jack out in the garage that someone gave me for these cars and I've never used it and never will.. If it was worth something I'd sell it.

I would buy it if i were there. Usable or not, it makes me smile knowing that my car is complete
