I have a 2008 GL450 with the Navigation system. I am still using the original disc. My system has erased all saved destinations twice, including the Home address. The first time I thought one of my kids was messing with it and erased it all by mistake. The second time it happened I was the only one in the car and I know I did not erase anything. I brought the car to the dealer and had the system checked out. The dealer has never encountered this issue and could not find anything wrong. Inititally I thought that updating to the newest disc might solve the problem, but I assume that these saved destinations are stored on a hard drive and not the actual disc. Has anyone experienced this issue? Any known fixes? Thanks.

It's happened to me once too, and I have no idea why. Very strange.

Also happened to me about 6 mos ago. Was really odd... glad to hear it wasn't something I did as I have no idea what it could have been. Im still slowly building up my address book as I go places. Should be a way to back up the address book in case something like this happens.

Just wondering if anyone has had this issue fixed at the Dealer. My NAV erased my saved locations again today for the fourth time. The last time I brought it to the dealer, they checked it out and said nothing is wrong with it. Any thoughts?

It happened to me once after GL was standing for 6 weeks in garage.
Otherwise car driveng everyday day error never repeated.

There is no hard drive in a 2008, and the DVD system is 'Read Only', it does not 'Write'. I suspect loss of power to the unit..........
