Just got the NAV+4 and was looking for any help on using the USB interface. The manual that comes with it is no help at all! :(

I connected a USB thumb drive with some MP3 files on it to test, but all I get is a please wait message on the display.

Thanks!

Can you post a copy of the manual, I'm sure it makes sense for someone at the forum.

What kind of a thumb drive was it, how much data and how was it formatted? Are you sure the music titles were MP3-coded?

I'd suggest trying first with a few titles only, proper format etc.

There wasn’t really anything in the manual, just stated you can connect a USB mass storage device for playing back MP3. I used the same MP3’s that I have put on a CD which worked. This was a 'fat' formatted Windows 4 GB USB stick. I have some other smaller ones which I could try…

Sounds like you did everything right, if the files play on a CD, I would expect UMI accept those equally. I would not expect a 4 GB stick being too large, unlike some SD HC cards on an adapter that only supports SD cards.

Hopefully you can figure out a solution or some other NAV+4 owner would help a bit.
