I was speaking with Bunce a few weeks back (British plough manufacturer). Theirs are made in 2' width sizes as in 6', 8', 10'... and the rubbers come in 2' sections so it's just a case of at the factory having one template and working from that

From that description of how they are made, I would guess that with a schmidt there would be no issues with reducing the size by 2' to match the next plough down in the series?

Which schmidt plow? If it is a 3 or 4 section plow, then I would say no, you can't narrow it unless you remove the outer sections which would leave you with a very narrow plow... the 3.1, 3.4, 5.4, ect all have a lot of engineering that goes into how each moldboard mounts to the support section so that it will individually spring away from obstacles, and 1 foot would get into the places where the support bars and springs mount. If it is a single piece plow, then it should be no problem to narrow up, if you have decent cutting skills and make sure that you cut where there is support behind the very end of the moldboard.

Cheers,
Ben

You can have the best of a few worlds.
9' might seem odd, but L have a plow that adjusts from 8' all the way to 10.
Its a Western Wideout. Something you could consider.

MegaMog has a Boss V-plow and l think its a 9'.
I take it you just need it for your own driveway?

I have this Wausau plow Model R3611H for sale that could be cut down very easily. See attached photos. It is 11' now so you would just have to take off a foot on each side. Let me know if you have an interest in it.
