Your years are wrong for a 21MM spline.

I think the switch was from 15mm to 21mm and the 21mm lasted right through to 1989 and was even used on other models much later. I don't know what date the 107 switched from 15 to 21, but my 73 was 15 and the 1978 is 21.

Change from 15 to 21MM spline occurred around the end of the 1977 model year. The change is recorded by chassis number on the various models.

SO..this fits up through the r107 series cars. I merely stated what was on the box. Works for many more than I thought. Brand new..never on a car..

Since the 107 switch from 15-21mm was around 1978, I would assume that NOT all w116 cars have this diameter spline.

W123 might have started with a wider spline in 1976 since it's so close to the change from 15mm for the 107. I do believe that later w123 used 21mm spline.

21MM was used on r107 through the end..1989. Beyond that, Fonzi and Rowdie are the experts..
