So I was driving home today, and suddenly all my flashers stopped working. Turn signals and emergency both.

Got home, checked here, and thought the N10 Relay might be a good place to start.

Unfortunately, when I tried to remove it, I couldn't get it out of the sockets. I couldn't see any obvious catches or clamps holding it in place, but I don't like to brute force things I don't know much about.

It probably hasn't been removed for the life of the vehicle, so connectors may be pretty well bonded.

Is it just supposed to pull right out if enough force is applied?

Fortunately, after all that rattling and tugging and pulling, the flashers started working again. I'd still like to see what shape those connectors are in, and maybe hose them down with some Deoxit.

Thanks for your help.

Yes, it comes straight up without any catches. Make sure fuse 6 isn't corroded and loosing contact. If it happens again check if the outside temperature gauge is also out; it is also on fuse 6.

You were right. However, it took much, much, much brute force to make it do so. :eek

I suspect this is a general problem with most olders MBs. Can anybody recommend a good electrical contact lubricant for MB electrical systems?
