When I removed the ACC Control unit on my 1991 500SL, I found an unused wire. Its a single gray wire in a black plastic sleeve with a connector at the end. See picture. It comes out of the same harness as the ACC control unit wires. Is this an original wire or something that the previous owner did? If its original where does it go?

I'm not sure the US-spec cars ever came with a TV tuner. I would think it's got to be something that's supposed to be tied into the radio. You might want to pull that out and see if you have an empty plug on the back.

Also, does your car have the OEM Benz cellphone?

Chris may have the answer there!
When I pulled out my CC and radio unit I discovered a dark grey cable which had an RSJ45 plug on the end. the cable is just visible under the yellow text.

Well, ya, that's your answer then. Plug them in and see what happens. Hopefully the alarm won't start going off or something...

Thanx guys, there is just one problem, my radio won't come out. When I use the tools only the right one works. The left one just wont catch on to something and just slides in and the right back out. Is there an alternate way to remove the radio? I've tried to push it out from behind and that didn't work. Any suggestions?

That's weird. Usually, as long as you have the little slider-tools, it comes straight out. I don't know how else to get it out, to be honest. I'm sure someone around here will have a trick to get it out.
