Was a nice day out and a W140 S600 parked next to my 126 at the mall so I decided to use my camera phone to take pics. My 126 is sooo small compared to this beast of a beauty 140! I also followed one home.

Marko, you need to clean the left half of your camera phone lens.

One rarely experiences W126 looking small, but against that W140, it looks like a subcompact.

I tend to park next another MB, not the recent ones but W124, W140 or older. I just feel that those who drive older MB's have certain respect and mutual admiration for those who drive MB's from yesteryear.

I was in Australia on vacation in February, came across a VERY MINI MB 2 door econo-model I've never seen here in the state's

Anyone seen one?

The 126 when compared to the 140 is long but not as wide and as spacious inside....it still is though a big car.

Interesting – the 126 looks even better next to the w140, especially from behind; one can tell the 126 is classic Benz and very ‘European’ looking. The w140 is a great looking car but one can see the start of the design blend from Asia and the US, generic and homogeneous – the white reflector is rather Maxima like.

I've parked all my cars next to the 600 at some point.. Still think the 140 is the blandest of them all..Even w/ 18 inch monblocks.

I think both look good but are different in each way. The interior of the w140 is even better though than the 126 and is very much benz-like!

I may be getting this confused with the W123 and W124, but I think I read somewhere that the W140 was going to be released originally in 1989, but sales of the W126 were still good, so they extended it's production a few years longer. So, if MB had released the W140 in 89, then the white reflector would kind of be kind of a first for cars since I don't think those kind of reflectors appeared until like 1991 on the Asian imports and domestics? Still ugly though.[]

How can that be? The W140 was designed on paper and in proto-type in, what, the late eighties? There was nothing asian in existence that even came close to looking like a W126, much less a W140. Closest you could get is the 1st gen Acura Legend (1986). Lexus didn't hit the scene until 1989? Many people have the cart before the horse on who started looking like who 1st. There is simply not a Japanese line on a w140, and most certainly nothing big 3 US domestic about it. Stop that[xx(][|)]!

When the then new W140 was coming out, I remember this silly commercials on TV with a Nerdy looking guy doing all the talking about the car and his finaly line was if you don't like this car, perhaps you don't like driving or something like that. I said to myself then, WTF! Okay, I'd say both are nice car with different charater. The 126 is your sexy thin lady and the 140 is Plain and overweight but nice one.[]
