There have been a lot of posts stating low coolant and low windshield washer fluid turn on the same light. I have separate warning lights on the dash of my slk and I've never seen any interaction between the two and I have had instances when one or the other has come on and it has always been a correct inidcation I was low on either fluid depending on the light.
yeh they both use the same circuit (they way they are wired up) and depending which one gets tripped a diff light comes up.
my dash has 2 lights one for washer and one for radiator. but funnily enough only the radiator one comes up if i have low coolant or low washer fluid.
my car recently has the light intermittently comming up and washer fluid is fine and coolant level is 100% fine and float is all good.
just replaced the coolant level sensor in the radiator expansion tank and so far nothing... in my case was faulty sensor. annoying yes, but still OK to drive around like that as long as your coolant levels are fine.
sensor isnt that all expensive can get it online...
Two sensors on a common circuit feeding two dash lights. Bazzle posted a solution to this a few years back. You likely have a bad sensor circuit in the radiator top-up tank. It is a common fault. Yo can fix it yourself with a bit of work or get the new part (whole tank) for several hundred $. This has happened on all the SLKs I have owned (3 of them).
