Started to dissasemble a U1200 last weekend to do a complete restore on. The engine ran good and tranny shifts, but the evil rust has taken its toll on the brakes and has started on the cab. What a shame to let a 11K mile, 1700 hour machine get to such a stage of disrepair. I'll post more pics the farther I go.

Cheers,
Ben

Ben,

I will be watching with great interest as you move along with this project.

Last week I stopped by a business here in Denver that let a U1000 get to a similar state of neglect. I could probably buy it cheap but the project seems just to big for me at this time. I hope you post photos and tell the story of how your
U1200 restore proceeds. BTW, you were absolutely right-on about the mog I bought. It did have the wrong wheel on the front left. The wheel the po had on there had about 1-1/2 inches more offset than all the others. Good eye. I could not see that in the tiny little pictures he posted and I probably would not have spotted it in person either if you hadn't said. Thanks.

Steve
