Looking good, and welcome.

First things first, loose the chrome wheel arches, next your going to need some euro headlights, oh the fun you'll have with this.

Looks like she could use a good thorough wash and detail.

Story

Here's the story on this 300SD.

240,000 miles
These pictures are straight from the guy that sold it to me. No cleaning or anything. I drove it home from Ranger, Tx to Conway, Ar (458 miles) and she did beautifully. 31 mpg.

I have a few things I need to do:
1. New oil filler cap the old one leaks under pressure. It's the orig MB one it came with.
2. Some of the injector fuel lines (braded) leak onto the block. I've got those on order to replace.
3. Belts will need replaced soon along with tires.
4. Serious cleaning and waxing.
5. Some wiring issues with the lights.
6. Fuses, i think the ones for the dash lights are out cause they don't work...at all. It was fun on the night drive back to arkansas! haha I used my iPhone to illuminate the gauges once in awhile.

I already replaced the oil filler cap so it's good.
Have the lines on order from Discount Auto Parts – Mercedes Parts, BMW Parts, Volvo Parts, Volkswagen Parts – PartsGeek.com

I'll keep you all posted on my progress!!

Hope you didn't throw away the original oil cap. You can take the gasket off carefully and turn it over and it's good for another go. Then you take it off and copy it and keep that original steel oil cap on there....much better than the new plastic ones that are so hard to loosen.

Oh yeah!! This engine should last me an easy 400k.

I will keep the original, and try the gasket thing. The one i got from autozone is steel also, just doesn't have the star on it like this one! :)

The guy who had it previously had those seats taken out of a Euro spec and put in his. He paid $3,000 to have it done at the MB dealership. He didn't like the original interior. So someone has a Euro spec with a US interior. haha!
