1. Here we go again ... Speed limit in speed trap area dropped to 60mph from 70, i was safely between 75 and 80. Escort started ringing like a psycho telephone, and ValentineOne was screaming and LI Intercepter was announcing lazer attack now jamming. They shot me once from overpass. another time from a motorcycle on side of road, Third time from the woods.

Georgia is rapidly becoming a police state of revenue cash cows.:eek::mad::mad:

2. Oh and Xenonlinks cut me a deal a full year AFTER the warranty expired on a blown ballast. Gotta love those guys

3. Anyone have an inside on Michellin Tires other than TireRack.com.

Last time drove to Raleigh NC speedshop. Filled with Nitrogen and beat tireracks price! Visited my friend and his showcar the "dragon".

Too busy in the IT world and dont have time for a roadtrip this time

Thanks for all replys!!

Hi Rob, sounds like you found yourself a nice deal on a set of tires installed.

Out of curiosity, would you be able to provide the name of the shop here in Raleigh you are referring to?

Second that on the Laser in GA. My shop installs them in Atlanta, and we have been getting calls from clients nearly every day saying "THANKS!"

I get shot at q few times a week, even when not speeding, because one officer told me the CL65 just looks fast, never mind our test Ferrari.... Can't move that car in a parking lot it seems.
They are all about making up for budget shortfalls with tickets in Georgia. All visitors to GA beware, be protected or drive the limit, they are draconian here.

Perhaps too our law enforcement officials are out there improving highway safety by stopping morons who feel it is their right to race through traffic regardless of speed.

It has been proven many times that there is little correlation to 'highway' speed and safety, given proper driver training.
There are a few countries in the world that have much higher or no speed limits in certain highways, and the accident rate is no more and sometime less on those highways ( due to drivers license training requirements). Notice I am talking highways and not surface streets.
Most people would agree that our safety would be much better served if officers were looking for thieves, thugs, and rapists... Rather than trying to earn money for the municipality. Statistics show that more is invested by police earning money, than investigation crime.
Enough rant for today....

Funny!!! Although I would not condone destroying property myself, I can see the humor in it. Speed cameras are not in use much in the US (thankfully). They have been attempted a few times, but removed just as many as far as the news reports I have seen.
Most places in the US still use good ol' radar, but many states (like Draconian Georgia) have gone to mostly Laser. The good thing about Laser, is that it is accurate (no false echos and reads off nearby cars). The bad thing about laser is that it takes more man power because the police car MUST be sitting still (thereby can not be on rounds or patrol). As discussed before, nothing more than revenue generation disguised as public safety.
The only truly independent tests of speeding (not done by the insurance or government) have concluded that in all but residential areas and extreme perpendicular traffic, does traffic police have any real effect on public safety.
