MY CLK DOESN'T START THE FIRST TIME SOMETIMES...WASSUP?

1754 Views 8 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  brianw430
Sometimes my CLK doesn't start up the first time I turn the key. I have to completely take out the key and retry usually one more time to get the engine started...sometimes two more times...other times like three!! What can this be? I'm hoping it's nothing too serious. My car only has 26K miles and is still young. Maybe the remote signal is weak due to low battery? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I still have no clue...Just changed the batteries in the remote key...

All I got was a little better range for locking and unlocking. Just the other day, the starting problem occurred again. I know the car recognizes the key because all the intruments and indicators first light up. Once I turn the key, I can barely hear a little something in the motor and then nothing. Kinda frustrating...not something you'd expect from a Mercedes.[:(!]
Thanks for the info brianw! Gonna get that starter drive gear checked out soon.
