Fuse? Bulb? Pull it out and check for voltage in the connector. And, check the contacts in the switch itself. If both doors don't work, I won't rule out both door switches being faulty. (last resort)

Is this happening on all 4 doors, or just the driver's door? If it's just the driver's door it is your seat belt warning relay.

Seatblet warning might not actually be bad. A lot of people just unplug it when they get annoyed. Its up under the dash on the drivers side if you want to check it.
Good thread for me, mine won't work on the drivers side door, replaced the switch with no luck. Gotta find this relay now . . .

mine quit working the other day after I unpluged and removed my cruise conrtol amp and the relay attached to the top of the amp by a bracket. Is the seatbelt alarm relay associated with the relay on top of the cc amp?

Yes, the seat belt warning relay is the small relay attached to the cruise control amp. A malfunctioning relay will cause your interior lights to not turn on when opening the drivers side door. The lights will turn on however, when opening the passenger's door.

Seat belt light flashing, Lights do not go on when open drivers or passenger.
Where is relay, what do i have to do to make the lights stop, and my interior light to come on. does the front light come on or the rear or both. (i just remembered my rear light never came on , maybe no bulb , will check ).

my relay was located under the driver's side dash, near my left shin. Mine is an '88 300se. It was attached to the top of the cruise control amplifier. The relay/cruise amp assembly is secured by a single bolt, and positioned almost vertically with the cannon plugs pointing toward the floor. If niether front door will activate the light, maybe check the bulb first? I'd suggest fuse, but there are normally a lot of components on each fuse, so unless you had a wave of electrical failures at the same time, probably not a fuse.

When you start the car without your seat belt on, do you hear a buzzer? The relay is what makes the buzzer sound. Bad relay, no sound. Just the front lights will turn on when opening the drivers door.
