Yeah, Jersey is known for those horrible quakes – it makes my eyes hurt. Nice car. Cool pic.

That was appropriate since today is the 100th anniversary of the great 1906 quake in SF.

Were you around for the Loma Prieta earthquake? Everyone I know remembers exactly what they were doing at that moment.

If I had the skills (and time) I might render a 3D model of the W123 in its varied (coupe, wagon, sedan, limousine) versions.

For now I'll stick with Legos [:D]

I was still living on the East coast at the time. I will say that with every earthquake comes great change. I am unsure that if the LP quake had not occured that SF would not have the beautiful Embarcadero waterfront renewal as it has.

I lived in the East Bay at the time but it was definitely something to remember. It did however rejuvenate and beautify the waterfront despite the "construction work" that the earthquake performed. I am glad your M-100 wasn't there to be in harm's way!

It's still with Karl in PA. I hope to get it back in June. I may drive it out to Lode Fest at the MB Classic Center in Irvine. Are you planning to attend with your 6.9?

I may take the 6.9 down but it's not exactly in show condition. It was caught in fallout from a house fire from the previous semi-celebrity owner and so it needs paint which is on the list to do. Purists will probably jeer at it so that is my reservation for bringing it.

Is Karl a family member? I would love to see it. And that 993 TT too. [:D] Wish I had the funds to acquire both. The last of the handbuilt opulent limousines and the air cooled supercars. Very nice.
