Yesterday, I posted a question wondering about when the factory would change over from MY 2014 to MY 2015 because I planned to take European Delivery next summer.

The new car General Manager at my dealer told me yesterday that he was told by factory representative that MB intended to stop the MY 2014 production short, sometime in about April or May and that I would have no problem at all getting a MY 2015 delivered in mid-July 2014 at the factory.

Don't know if he knows what he's talking about, but thought I'd share in case anyone was interested in MY changeover.

He also said customers were extremely disappointed to learn that a car ordered now would not be delivered until at least March and probably April.

It's dumb how the S Class is supposedly going to have the new touchpad in the 2015 model... I might hold off ordering until the 2015 model instead... Hypothetically, if I do decide to order the 2015 model before it launches, how long would it take before taking delivery?

Do you think it would be standard or an option (like the HUD)? Anyway, that touchpad too seems to coming with MY code 805, be it standard or an option.

I am hoping for the Diesel to be out by then. I have not heard anything about a forthcoming diesel powered S for the US. I sure hope MB will offer the new S with diesel power here.

We're slated to get the S350 BlueTEC here.

I think the touchpad seems to be standard equipment... I mean BMW and Audi has it as standard equipment.

got a s350, but it s a 2012 :thumbsup:

was at dealer yesterday, promo day, new s class sure is nice, but no diesels yet....

also saw the new 2014 e250 4 cyl diesel on the showroom floor...

salesman did say 2014 is short year, switching to 2015 in april....
